Aerolineas Argentinas puts a stop to Auckland stopover

Aerolineas Argentinas will fly non-stop between Sydney and Buenos Aires from 01 July, dropping its Auckland stopover.

The A340 operated service will be increased from three times a week to five times a week from December.

Air NZ increases capacity to US destinations

Air New Zealand is increasing its capacity into the North American destinations of Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver.

The airline will move to 14 return services per week on the Auckland – Los Angeles route from mid June, including three flights on Saturdays and a double daily service most other days of the week. The additional Los Angeles services will be operated with a combination of 304 seat Boeing 777-200 and 332 seat Boeing 777-300 aircraft. Audio: Drunk driver takes over busy US runway

Philadelphia International Airport has reopened after a drunk driver forced the closure of the airport earlier today.

The drunk driver drove through a gate and onto the runway.

The driver was charged with drunk driving and reckless endangerment.

Emergency landing at Whenuapai

An Air Force aircraft with 12 passengers on board made an emergency landing in Auckland this afternoon after smoke was reported in the cockpit.

A call was made to the fire service after 3pm this afternoon, although the aircraft had landed when the call was placed.

Numerous fire appliances from as far away as Ponsonby as well as police and ambulance were called to the scene, but were stood down once it was established there was no fire on board.

Air NZ flight returns to Auckland after smoke alert

An Air New Zealand flight to Hong Kong had to turn back to Auckland last night after a smoke warning light activated in the cockpit.

Air New Zealand’s newest aircraft the Boeing 777-300ER arrived in Auckland this morning.

The aircraft made famous by its ‘Cuddle Class’ interior will begin regular flights to London via Los Angeles from April, with ad hoc flights on various Australian routes until then.
